Product Overview

Gamakatsu is a Japanese hook maker from Hyogo Prefecture. The A1 TKO is a loose-hook model for rock-shore float fishing (iso fukase), designed around the three most popular targets on Japanese rocky shores: red sea bream (Tai), common blackfish (Kuchibuto gure) and longtail blackfish (Onaga gure).

The hook is finished in "weed purple", a colour modelled on seaweed growing on the rocks so it blends into the water and does not make fish wary. It is made from Gamakatsu's high-strength A1 hook steel with Topless Coat for a sharp point that stays sharp.

A larger number means a larger, thicker hook for bigger fish. No. 4–6 are for blackfish (gure), No. 7–10 cover red sea bream and large longtail blackfish, and No. 11–12 are for big red sea bream.
